Fishing versus Hunting
On the Wolf River in Wisconsin, fishermen protect Sturgeon during the spawning season. In Milwaukee, Riverkeepers protect suckers. We don't catch fish when they're spawning and we don't kill any gamebirds when they're raising young, except for turkeys. Spring hunters bumble about the woods, pursuing male turkeys, while hens are trying to lay and set on their eggs. In some southern states, they're even allowed to shoot up to 5 toms each in Spring. Then they wonder what happened to the turkey population. They should only hunt turkeys in Fall, with a dog, like every other game bird. TurkeyDog.Org
